Which is why it seems odd that I’m suddenly interested in Mad Cow.

The high-end motorcycle seat-, wallet- and belt-making company will open in about 6,000 square feet of space in downtown Pontiac by the end of this month after moving from its previous headquarters in Shelby Township.

Jay Burgher, 35, president of Mad Cow, said he employs about nine people during the peak months between March and December and about five during the slower wintertime. He expects to hire two more in the new location at 87 N. Saginaw St. where University Drive dead-ends to the west. (…)

Waun and Loren Guzik, a fellow Indian Hill investor and senior director of brokerage for Cushman & Wakefield in Chicago, purchased the 64-year-old building at 87 Saginaw in July for $85,000, according to CoStar Group Inc., a Washington, D.C.-based real estate information service.
