HIDDEN HISTORIC GEMS UNCOVERED DURING BUILDING REHAB IN DOWNTOWN PONTIAC

As reported on theoaklandpress.com; written by Natalie Broda.

A group of developers is currently renovating 29 North Saginaw St. in downtown Pontiac.

The 30,000 square-foot, three-floor building was erected in 1865, once the home of Enggass Jewelry Co. Decades of development covered up the building’s original craftsmanship, such as hand-laid black and white marble flooring and brick walls hidden under cedar siding.

Uncovering those concealed gems is the primary goal for the development team Re Fund 29 LLC, consisting of local developers Kyle Westberg of West Construction, Loren Guzik of Pike Street Properties, Rick Herbert, a local CPA and Bob Waun, resident agent for Re Fund 29 LLC.

The partner’s aren’t working on a specific timeline or budget to complete the stripping down of the building, according to Wuan.
