Mr. Stangeland has extensive direct lobbying and public relations experience and has worked for two national law firms. He specialized in the following industries: transportation, real estate, trade, insurance, healthcare, gaming, financial services, and electronic payments. Examples of clients he has represented are Quicken Loans, the Ambassador Bridge Company, The Trump Organization, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Hagerty Insurance, and Oakland University. Mr. Stangeland was a co-founder of the Michigan Venture Capital Association and has extensive knowledge and experience in the consumer lending and electronic payments industry. He has served on multiple committees of the Electronic Transaction Association. Mr. Stangeland currently serves on the Board of Michigan Virtual Charter Academy, the largest online public school in Michigan. Mr. Stangeland’s Federal Government experience includes serving on the White House staff of President George H. W. Bush and as a member of the Bush-Cheney Transition Team. Mr. Stangeland also worked for Michigan Governor John Engler. His hobbies include raising horses on his farm, motorcycle riding, skiing, fishing, and restoring classic vehicles. Mr. Stangeland is a graduate of Iowa State University.
